Capturing a Castle

OPW

2021

For more than 1,000 years, Dublin Castle has stood at the centre of Ireland’s political, cultural and ceremonial life. Bright’s brand identity for the landmark draws on this rich heritage through a refined graphic depiction of the impressive State Apartments façade, complemented by classical typography and jewel-toned colours inspired by the Castle’s ornate interiors.

Built in the early thirteenth century on the site of an earlier Viking settlement, Dublin Castle served for centuries as the centre of English administration in Ireland. Following independence in 1922, it was handed over to the Irish government and today remains both a working state complex and one of the country’s most significant visitor attraction.
